PART 14: LEVEL-1 CERTIFICATION FLIGHT



Aerotech Astrobee D soundig rocket project launched from Cantwell, Alaska on August 16, 1997 on an aerotech reloadable H-180W with a 10 second delay. Rocket boosted very straight and stable, with very rapid acceleration off the launch pad.

This unpainted rocket had a lift off weight of 3.5 pound with a 3 foot flat circular parachute, and achieved an estimated apogee of 2,000 feet.

Flight was text book perfect with parachute dpeloyment and successful recovery of the rocket. Level-1 certification flight was witnessed and signed off by Steve Cords who is the Tripoli Alaska Prefect.
