Our first high power launch of the year is scheduled for this weekend, and it looks like it could be a wet one!
70% chance of rain on Saturday, minimal chance on Sunday. Wind for Saturday looks good, Sunday it could be a bit breezy.
Ah, the joys of Nebraska weather!

I have seen everything from 20% to 80% chance for rain. Didn't really check for wind. Guess I will wait until Saturday to see if I am going.
I guess I really ought to get something fixed so I can fly. _________________ Bill Richardson ENC USNR Ret. TRA 8703 L2 In my opinion stupidity should be painful, very painful. Because if it was there would be alot less of it in the world today. |

Currently it looks like Saturday will be the best day. Rain in the AM and chance of a T'storm in the PM. Winds now predicted 10 to 15mph.
Sunday winds 20 to 30. _________________ Bill Richardson ENC USNR Ret. TRA 8703 L2 In my opinion stupidity should be painful, very painful. Because if it was there would be alot less of it in the world today. |

Hope you all have a great launch day. I got called in to work at 9:00 PM and didn't get home until 2:30 AM. Don't think I am going to make it. _________________ Bill Richardson ENC USNR Ret. AARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!
Best flying weather we've had in years, and I didn't have any rockets with me!
The forecast indicated that, at the best, it was a bit iffy. But no, by noon, it was clear and beautiful, with no wind! Single-deploy flights to 4,000 feet were landing within 100 yards of the pads.

Just had to rub it in didn't you. I didn't wake up until about 10:00. Oh well, maybe next month. _________________ Bill Richardson ENC USNR Ret. TRA 8703 L2 In my opinion stupidity should be painful, very painful. Because if it was there would be alot less of it in the world today. |

Did you miss the part where I didn't get any flying done, either? <sigh>
If I'd thought there was even a 50% chance of it being good flying weather, I would've either brought something of mine, or brought Dan and his rockets.
Drat!
Oh! Remember my 4" THOR from last year? The one I was certain was in the water?
It wasn't, apparently. Someone dropped it off yesterday -- it was found in the field. The rocket is ruined, I have no idea where the alt bay is, but the parachute is in surprisingly great shape (it just needed to be washed), the nosecone is perfect, and the motor is fine.
