hi, i am new to this forum, i have actually been looking for a good rocketry forum for a while. i was just wondering, is there any admin or moderator at this forum? becuase it seems terribly disorganized. _________________
hm... just seems like there isn;t much to me... like there only being one rank, never seeing a post by a moderator, no rules topic, and such. ok, thanks, though. _________________

There is indeed a moderator. Actually, there are two.
I'll admit, I never worried about the ranks; if it matters, and people would like to see them, that can be tweaked.
What are your thoughts for number of posts for each rank?
As for rules, I tend to be a believer that the vast majority of people know what kind of behavior is expected of them. If the behavior of the members proves me wrong, then we'll look at posting a rules topic. But the only moderation that's ever proven necessary is the removal of flagrant spam.

Keep in mind too, that while Rocketry Online has been around for quite a while, this forum software is fairly new, so there is a lot of content that has gone the way of the Dodo.
There is a bit of useful information here, and plenty of users with more experience than has been expressed, so if there's something you want to know - this of all places is one of the last that will tell you to search first - just ask!
Moderators aren't marked in their posts, because we see no need to stand on a soap box - we're all rocketeers, and we all have input, and all of it has some merit - even if simply expressing an opinion, or something that worked for one individual with a specific arrangement.
You speak to 'organization', but I would like to see if you would expand upon that - is it the arrangement of the information contained here, or are you speaking of who's who, and who the moderators are? If the latter, myself and troj moderate, with a couple of others added for select areas of the forum.
Again, feel free to ask anything that comes to mind. And in the mean time, there is a lot of archived information collected from this and other forums located at www.infocentral.org _________________ RD
ok, thanks for the info. if there are no ranks, i have no problem at all with that, but it would make more sense if ranks were removed altogether. it just kinda bothers me that everyone, including moderators is classed as a "newbie." it would be best if moderators had a different color name or something. i am an admin on one forum, and a moderator on another so i am just giving a few suggestions is all. of course, rocketry is a topic which has older and more mature members than on mos of the other forums i surf on, so i guess that it is true that rules are not very necessary.
thanks. _________________
